Labour - A Comic

Commissioned as part of SAVVY Contemporary’s exhibition Labour: An Invitation to Action, a Basis for Hope, 6 July - 24 August 2024.

A work meant to be held in your hands, this comic accompanied the curatorial concept notes in the exhibition handout and assessed the cost of cultural work to the cultural worker, the debt of the cultural worker to creating a culture against apartheid, and the power and purpose to be found in cultural work experienced in community with each other, in response to our own needs, dreams and collective desires.
